So first off, let’s get this week’s delivery/pick up details sorted.

Pick up People: This applies to you believe you are picking up this week.  Please write us at mike@mikesgardenharvest.com, and in the header, write “picking up”.   We are going to manually sort the stickers to be sure we are not caught off guard this week and have people showing up without a box made for them. So let’s get that out of the way. Again, if you are coming to pick up, regardless of your status..  email with “picking up” in the header. Please do that today.  Pick up is tomorrow (Wednesday) between 3 and 6 pm at the farm, which is 436 River Road.

Delivery People: This applies to you if you believe you are receiving a box on your door step this week.  We are delivering over a span of 2 days.  This is the schedule we are going to try based on what we learned last week in terms of time it takes to deliver each area:

Thursdays: Home delivery through afternoon and early evening to: Delivery zone 1: Alta Vista/Old Ottawa South/The Glebe Delivery zone 7: Manotick/Riverside South/Findlay Creek Delivery zone 8: South Gloucester/Hunt Club

Friday’s: Home delivery through the day to: Delivery zone 3: Barrhaven; Delivery zone 4: Centrepointe; Delivery zone 5: Wesboro/Hintonburg; Delivery zone 7: Nepean/Carleton.

Some of you, in the sign-up process, got put in the wrong delivery zone for your address.  That is why we will confirm delivery with a text to the number that is on the delivery sticker. Also, help us get it right. I know you have done this already. But IF there are specific instructions that you need us to know (concisely) tell us via your email that you send, saying what you ordered.  We will actually write that on the box because looking it up on delivery sheets that are not in sync with the route is a time killer.

We are harvesting and packing on all three of these days for the people who are expecting on those days to ensure that everything is fresh from the field. Which is the way it is supposed to be.

I think that is all for now.  This evening is the deadline to customize your box for everyone..no matter which of the above groups we are going in.  Normally, you will have 24 to 48 hours for that…but we got bogged in a quagmire.  Also, hoping, moving forward to get a better handle on the Harvie website so we aren’t quite so labour intensive on our end. However, until we are absolutely sure we are getting this right, we are doing a lot of the sorting old school.

This week, we are offering baby carrots and some Kirby-sized cucumbers along with an interesting mesculun mix. I truly hope you enjoy your ‘first’ offering from our farm to your table.
