Here is hoping you each had a meaningful Thanksgiving weekend. Couldn’t really have asked for better weather on Sunday. Just beautiful.
A bit of a hilarious story… on Sunday, I went to visit my friends who were at the TD Centre Farmer’s Market. Parking is always a hassle down there..especially in my big van. Anyway, I knew that with all things, it might be a light crowd, so I went down to connect and be supportive. I rolled up to the gate looking for a place to park just outside when the security guard jumped up and opened it up, and confidently waved me in. I tried waving him off, but he was persistent, and I thought, “oh well…lol” So I drove in, giving him a nod of approval and slowly coasted around to where the stalls were located. Casually parked in an unloading zone and then went to visit. Picked up a few nice items to enjoy, shared a story or two, then walked back to my van and hopped in. No ticket..nothing. With confidence, I drove out to the other side only to have the security person there, just as quickly as the first, roll back the gate for me. I was sure to give him a nod of approval as I passed by and then, with a chuckle, pulled out onto Bank and headed home. Sometimes things just work out 🙂
It really has been a season of blessings. Remarkably so. Intense, full of growing pains, but truly what a year! I could not have asked for a better group of people to share it with as well. You have been so fun. Showing off recipes and sending encouraging and funny messages. We have already started to build a team of core people for next year, and the winter will be set aside to plan, educate and prepare for 2021. I really hope you will be a part of it!
This week, there are our famous yellow and red onions, some great field tomatoes that have just ripened in time, a mixed bag of freshly dug potatoes, carrots, beets, kohlrabi and of course all our squashes. I should have eaten supper before I wrote all of that because now I’m starving.
As always, enjoy. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to put food on your family’s table. Thanks for making this season possible.
