Welcome to MGH’s Farm Happening …the Labour Day edition. Woot.
Now, before I begin to wax philosophically… it has come to my attention that some of you actually do things and go places. Particularly on a long weekend. And while you have collectively decided to take me along, many of you like to take our vegetables with you. So to do our part to get you to your cottage on time and to take a little bit of pressure off of our new driver (that would be me) we are offering a few alternatives.
Please read with tremendous care. All choices must be made known to us at the farm by Tuesday evening. That would be tomorrow 🙂
Option 1: The already established Farm Pickup. This is on Wednesday from 3’ish to 6pm at 436 River Road. Treat yourself and show up early for the full lineup experience.
Option 2: Thursday Farm pickup at the wagon. From 10 am to 11 am. After 11 am, there will be no one here at the farm.
Option 3: Friday Farm Pick Up at the wagon. Also, from 10 am to 11 am. Again, no one is here past 11 am, as I am hoping we are well underway doing deliveries.
So…a good week. Tomatoes are coming in strong now. Zucchini is fading a bit. Still a ton of patty pans. Beans look good, and the swang song of the zukes and cukes is still doing their thing. Will take a run at potatoes…should be dry enough. A story there, but we will save it for another time. Onion tops are starting to lodge and turn brown, but there are plenty still nice and green for this week’s harvest. Lettuce of course, and hopefully raddish. Herbs are looking a little war-torn, but we’ll see what we have. Fair warning…you the bunch of herb you asked for swapped for another on the fly. We are really trying not to do that..but sometimes, in the heat of putting a share out …it happens. Fall carrots will be special this year. Stay tuned.
I have to get this out,..so we’ll call it here. Thank you, folks, for everything. Particularly the patience as we went through a very ..very short staffing last week. Back to full strength (or close to it), so things will hopefully be a lot less exciting. Enjoy your share of your weekend. God Bless and play safe.
