Well hello there,
This is the first edition of our weekly farm newsletter (The News Lettuce). You are getting this because either you signed up for a vegetable basket with us OR you subscribed to it through our website. This will keep you updated with all things Mike’s Garden Harvest. Mostly funny, sometimes soulful and always relevant, connecting you to how your food is grown.
The front-page news this week??
We are on the precipice of the start of our 2026 harvest! Woot!!
We are excited about all that we are planting this year. The work for this week began all the way back in November of last year. Now, the greenhouse is full, and we are busy in the fields. As for all that rain, just thank heavens the very first thing we did when we arrived here was install tile drainage throughout the entire farm. We are just fine -)
A core value of our farm is nurturing the connection between us and those who we have the privilege of growing for. Over 14 years we have evolved in our practices, but the heart of our purpose has remained the same. Connecting our community with fresh fruit and the farm vegetables from our field.
Speaking of community, we have another grower on the farm. Her name is Leah and she is the owner of Blush & Willow Flowers. The amount of work she has put in is so impressive. In a driving rain she single-handedly drove in 26 T-bar stakes to hold the netting for her Dalias. Every day she watches over her rows, planting and carefully tending to everything she is growing. By late July, I am told, her first bouquets will be ready and available at the farm pick up.
We are always striving to be better. It is folks like you that have helped make this small local farm providing fresh local vegetables, possible. An earnest Thank you for that. Click here to reserve to get your 2026 share in the harvest:
Any questions, please don’t be shy.
Thank you for being a part of our season and without further ado, here we go!!!
